Dear Trade Partner,
From 1 June, the testing, entry and quarantine regulations for guests flying to Italy with Etihad Airways is changing.
No quarantine on arrival
Guests will be exempt from having to travel for essential reasons only – meaning that leisure travel is permitted – and they will not be required to quarantine when they arrive in Italy.
A COVID-19 test is required 48 hours before departure
Guests must have a COVID-19 PCR test a maximum of 48 hours before their flight departure time from Abu Dhabi. Tests can be taken at any accredited medical facility, or guests may arrange a rapid test to be taken in the airport if they are transiting in Abu Dhabi. The cost of rapid testing in Abu Dhabi airport is US $50.
Children under two are exempt from COVID-19 PCR testing.
A Rapid Antigen Swab Test is required on arrival
On arrival in Italy, guests will be required to take a Rapid Antigen Swab Test at their own expense. Guests connecting to a non-Schengen country are exempt from arrival testing.
Entry restrictions
Existing Immigration regulations remain in place, passport and visa regulations still apply.
Guests will not be permitted to enter or transit through Italy if they have been in or transited through Bangladesh, Brazil, India or Sri Lanka in the past 14 days. This does not apply to nationals of Italy.
