China flights
If guests are travelling to Shanghai from the UAE, it is mandatory to have a COVID-19 PCR test and IgM test 48 hours before their flight. All travellers to China are required to submit their test result to the local Chinese embassy for verification. For Chinese nationals, this will be a ‘Green Health Code’. and for Foreign nationals, an Embassy ‘Health Declaration Form’. They will only be permitted to fly if they have a negative test result and can present a Green Health Code or embassy Issued Health Declaration before boarding. Read more
Quarantine-free arrivals into Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi is open to tourists without quarantine from all destinations.
There’s no quarantine for guests travelling on a direct flight to Abu Dhabi from any of the countries below.

To be considered fully vaccinated, your customers must have received two doses of the same vaccine, or one dose of Janssen, at least 14 days before departure.
If your customers are unvaccinated and travelling through a green list country from a non-green country to Abu Dhabi, and have spent less than 10 days in a green country before arriving, they must complete the quarantine in Abu Dhabi.
The time spent in the green country prior to arriving in Abu Dhabi will count towards the 10-day quarantine period. For example, if they’ve travelled from a non-green list location, and then spent four days in a green list country before travelling to Abu Dhabi, they will only need to quarantine for six days in order to complete the 10-day total quarantine.
If they are travelling from a country deemed to be high-risk, they may be will be subject to quarantine at a government facility.

Mandatory COVID-19 PCR testing
It is mandatory for all guests to have a COVID-19 PCR test before they fly. Depending on where the guest is travelling to, the test must be carried out 48, 72 or 96 hours before their flight departure time. Tests can be taken at any government accredited medical facility. Children under 12 and people with severe and moderate disabilities are exempt from COVID-19 PCR testing. This may vary by destination – always check in advance.
Timings and requirements will differ for flights to China or select destinations. Guests departing Pakistan and India must use an Etihad approved medical facility.
All guests should print their test results as they will be required for validation at check-in. Guests must present a medical certificate or other relevant document, clearly stating the type of test and the result.
Guests may also present their test result via the Al Hosn app if they are flying to Abu Dhabi and their test was taken within the UAE
If the test is positive or a guest is unable to present proof of their negative COVID-19 PCR test, they will not be permitted to travel. They can rearrange their flight for free, or cancel and use the value of their flight towards their next trip with Etihad Credit.

Guests flying from Abu Dhabi can now save on the cost of their COVID-19 PCR test, with discounted testing available at G42 and LifeDX clinics across the UAE.
Guests flying in First and Business can also arrange for their sample to be collected from home.
